It is crucial to have your website listed on search
engines to be able to promote your company on the web
and build traffic – which includes sales leads.
This should be part of the optimisation of your company
website, which includes a good use of keywords and website
description. Without optimising your website you will
not achieve any of your goals you have set for it. This
applies as much for a simple brochure on the web, as
an all-singing & all-dancing e-commerce site.
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is the process of
optimising a web site to attract targeted traffic by
achieving a high search engine ranking.
Many SEO companies talk about "guaranteed listings",
and "getting your site listed top". But what
does that really mean? For which search words, and on
which search engines. Our aim at Ixus Systems is to
find out which words your potential customers are actually
using to search, and to get you listed on the first
results page of major search engines.
How we optimise your web site:-
1. Assess your current web site and make recommendations
2. Identify the keywords your potential customers are
using to search
3. Ensure your web site is highly ranked on the major
search engines
4. Understand where your web site traffic is from and
refine the optimisation
5. process to continually provide the best for your
business
Search Engine Keywords
Visitors can find your web sites through search engines,
by entering keywords or multiple search strings of several
keywords to further refine their search. Choosing and
placing your keywords will show that search engines
can determine your sites ranking.
Keyword Frequency - How often a keyword appears on
the page
The more times a keyword appears on the page, the more
relevant it will be to that search. Frequency is defined
as how often a keyword appears on the page.
Keyword Weight
Keyword weight is the percentage of keywords on a page
in relation to all other words on the page. A "keyword"
can be either a single word, or a short phrase.
The higher a keyword weight the better, but within a
reason otherwise you may get penalized by search engines.
Keyword Density
Keyword density is the number of times your keywords
appear on your webpage and in your meta tags. So if
you used your keyword 10 times on your webpage and your
web page has 200 words on it, your keyword density would
be 5%. Due to meta tag abuse, gateway pages and invisible
keyword stuffing, search engines had to find a better
way to provide relevant results. Its important to get
your site listed on top of the search engines, but you
must not abuse your keyword density by increasing your
keywords.
